"Biden Administration Grants Full Funding for Arkansas Tornado Relief"

Updated: May 22

President Biden's decision to increase federal disaster response funds to 100% of the costs for debris removal and emergency protection in Arkansas is a major step forward in tornado cleanup efforts.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has already provided funds to cover up to 75% of debris removal costs for the state of Arkansas, and this increase will ensure that the state can cover the remaining 25%. Additionally, the President has approved $2 million dollars in federal funds for emergency protective measures in the affected counties.

FEMA Administrator Bob Fenton has declared a major disaster in Arkansas, allowing the state to receive federal assistance. FEMA is currently working with the state to provide necessary resources and support to help with tornado cleanup efforts.

The President has expressed his condolences to those affected by the storms, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that the state is able to fully recover from the devastation caused by the tornadoes. He has also offered his support in the ongoing cleanup process.

FEMA is also providing resources to help individuals and families recover from the storms, including financial assistance for temporary housing, repairs and other needs.

The state is also working with local and federal partners to provide physical and mental health resources to affected individuals and families.

Arkansas residents and businesses can apply for assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) website or by calling the FEMA helpline.

The state of Arkansas is grateful for the support of the federal government during this difficult time. With the additional funds and resources provided by the President and FEMA, the state can continue the process of rebuilding and recovering from the tornadoes.
